Inspired by the Miniwatt tubes that were produced by Philips and used in radio's back in the days, the Iceberg Effects Miniwatt provides tube warmth and saturation in pedal form. The pedal combines the amp-like tube overdrive with a preamp circuit based on the DOD-250 overdrive pedal and a passive tilt EQ circuit that provides a wide range of useable tone setttings. The Miniwatt provides everything from clean warm amp-like tones to saturated distortion.

Specifications:

  • 12AX7 tube inside the pedal
  • Preamp circuit based on DOD-250
  • Controls
    • Tone: this controls the passive tilt EQ. Turn it past noon to boost the treble frequencies and cut the bass frequencies. Turn it below noon to amplify bass frequencies and attenuate treble.
    • Gain: This knob controls the gain of the preamp circuit. Turn the gain all the way down to only get tube overdrive and remove the preamp gain from the circuit. Turn it up to add gain. At higher settings, LED clipping will provide more saturation.
    • Volume: Master volume control
  • Internal trimpots:
    • Gain: this sets the gain level of the tube
    • Tube bias: This changes the EQ and gain level of the tube. These trimpots have been carefully set during calibration of the pedal. Only change the trimpots if you want to experiment with tubes other than 12AX7 tubes
  • Relay-based bypass with momentary hold function (can be dissabled)
  • 3.5mm port for external bypass when linking multiple Iceberg Effects together
  • Top mounted jacks
  • Center negative power input
  • Power consumption 400mA
  • Hand-built using high quality components
